Industrial Mezzanine Handrails and Balustrades
It is a legal requirement that edge protection for a mezzanine floor be at least 1100mm high and have either a second bar at the halfway point or an infill panel such as glass, wood or mesh to offer further health and safety assurance. Approved Document K of the building regulations also recommends that stairs and ramps should have a handrail for the purposes of balance assistance provided at a height of between 900mm and 1000mm.
In industrial or warehouse settings, most clients find our standard balustrades are more than adequate for their edge protection needs. Our standard edge protection is manufactured from box section steel posts and handrails that are available in a galvanised finish or a range of powder coated options.
For staircases adjacent to a wall, we offer wall-mounted handrails in a variety of styles, specifically designed to mount to any wall.

Office and retail mezzanine floors are often customer or client facing and, alongside the requirements of BS 6399 to comply with health and safety, there is an additional aesthetic element to choosing mezzanine handrails and infill panels.

Our stainless-steel handrails are particularly popular combined with glass infill panels in retail settings to ensure that customer line of sight to product displays is not impeded. We offer satin or mirrored finishes that are complemented by stainless steel base plates. Our glass panels are made of toughened safety glass and are of the highest quality.
We specialise in bespoke steelwork and our design team loves a job that is a little out of the ordinary. We have supplied Pre-Distressed raw steel for a “Steampunk” themed interior, complete with rivets, and we have designed beautiful curved spindles that combine to create a unique infill panel.
